iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone Duo: Prices, Features, and Release Updates

Updated October 19, 2026 | OurTechSpace

Apple’s latest iPhones are here—and this generation brings more than another choice between a small phone and a big one. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are available now, while the folding iPhone Duo is available to preorder ahead of its October 23 release. The standard iPhone 18 follows a different timeline, with reports pointing to spring 2027.

iPhone 18 Pro: Power Without the Biggest Screen

The iPhone 18 Pro combines a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display, ProMotion up to 120Hz, and Apple’s A20 Pro chip. An updated vapor chamber cooling system helps manage heat during demanding tasks.

One of its headline upgrades is the 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture. The lens can adjust its aperture for different lighting conditions and depth of field, giving photographers more flexibility when capturing people, products, and everyday scenes.

For creators and gamers who prefer a smaller device, the Pro puts the generation’s premium features into a more manageable size.

U.S. starting price: $1,199 before tax.

iPhone 18 Pro Max: A Bigger View

The iPhone 18 Pro Max offers a 6.9-inch display, along with the A20 Pro chip and variable-aperture Main camera. Both Pro models feature ProMotion up to 120Hz.

That additional screen space makes the Max especially interesting for watching videos, playing games, editing photos, and working on the go. The practical question is comfort: a larger display also means a larger phone to hold and carry.

U.S. starting price: $1,299 before tax.

iPhone Duo: Apple’s First Folding iPhone

The iPhone Duo introduces a folding design to Apple’s smartphone lineup. It is officially announced and available to preorder, with availability beginning October 23, 2026, in the United States and other initial launch markets.

The Duo features a 5.4-inch outer display that opens into a 7.6-inch inner display, plus an A20 Pro chip and Touch ID. Its U.S. price starts at $1,999 for 256GB.

Its main attraction is the change in format: a compact folded device that opens into a larger workspace. Whether that suits your routine will depend on how you use apps, type, watch content, and carry your phone.

What Happened to the Regular iPhone 18?

The standard iPhone 18 has not launched alongside the Pro models. Current reporting points to spring 2027, but its final specifications, pricing, and release date remain unconfirmed by Apple.

Which Model Would You Choose?

The 18 Pro offers premium features in a smaller size. The Pro Max gives entertainment and creative work more screen space. The Duo introduces an entirely different way to use an iPhone, while the standard 18 remains one to watch for an official announcement.

Would you stick with the traditional iPhone design—or switch to the folding Duo?
